BETTER TO MAKE HAY WHEN THE SUN SHINES

 We are all familiar with the proverb "make hay while the sun shines", but what does it mean to make hay while the sun shines. This statement dates back to ancient times when making hay was quite difficult to make, a farmer could only make hay for their animals when the weather was bright and beautiful, compared to modern-day haymaking, where we have machinery and weather forecast on our side. It was difficult to make hay in ancient times because you never could tell when it was going to rain and hay gets ruined with wetness, and they had to seize the opportunity when the weather was right.

 When we hear this proverb today, different thought comes to mind as people still use this statement as a form of advice or warning to a friend or family, urging him to make use of an opportunity when the time is right, "for great success involves making use of opportunities when the time is right".

"We live our lives today for tomorrow will plan for itself" this is an everyday slang among
young adults today who live their time putting energy and time into pointless things, make use of this slang most times when we are putting effort into things that don't matter, many a time people forget that tomorrow never plans for itself, in fact, "tomorrow is determined by the building blocks of today".

"Let me enjoy my life while I'm still young, I have only one life to live" this is another major trend among young adults today, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" jack realises he has to work before he plays, many adults in their later stage of life are living an unsuccessful life today because they played when they were supposed to work and are now trying to work when they are supposed to play. Once you have missed the opportunity, you have missed it.

"This life I can't kill myself ", laziness and indiscipline have become a major trend among young adults today, they see a clear and bright opportunity but don't go for it because they consider it stressful. I urge you to make hay while the sun shines, don't be like that adult in his 50s or 60s, who always tells stories of how life was bright when they were younger, and how they wish "they had bent the iron while it was still hot"

 The 20s is the best time to take risks as we are not already saddled with responsibilities, it is time a youth is most fluid to change location, careers and even relationships as against where he had to settle and establish as a member of a community in future years.
